Antennagate and The iPhone 4

Antennagate and The iPhone 4

Is the brouhaha over the Apple iPhone 4's antenna taking its toll? During its conference call this week, Apple said it couldn't really talk about the issue because there is no end to people demanding for iPhones 4.

In a poll conducted by the IDC however, it was revealed that about two-thirds of present iPhone users will postpone upgrades because of the antenna issue. Also about 74% of those who do not own an iPhone (but are thinking of buying one), said that the antenna and reception problems will not hold them back from making their purchase.

It appears the reason why people who have an iPhone are less likely to buy an iPhone 4 is because they already have an iPhone. On the other hand, a group of IT professionals is largely willing to overlook the antenna issue.

Kidding aside, people should consider the antenna issue before buying an iPhone 4. If you make too many phone calls, are left-handed, don't like cases and headphones and live in an area with a weak signal, this is definitely NOT the phone for you.
